Al Tahoe
The Al Tahoe neighborhood is located between the shores of Lake Tahoe, Trout Creek/Cold Creek Meadow, and Lake Tahoe Blvd. Recently the neighborhood has had major improvements to El Dorado Beach, now also known as Lakeview Commons, with an outdoor amphitheater, picnic tables, beach amenities, and Stand Up Paddle Board and kayak rentals. The Lakeview Commons at El Dorado Beach boat ramp is located on Highway 50 at Lakeview Avenue. The boat ramp is open seasonally depending on accessibility and the lake’s water level. Various events are held throughout the summer from live music to SUP races.
Reagan Beach is another lakefront area open to the public that has a large lawn area, playground, bathrooms, and sand volleyball. The beach faces north and offers great views and shallow water for swimming. Regan is the in-town place to go to have a picnic, launch your kayak, or to take the kids to run around on the grass. On the west side of Regan Beach, on the corner of Lakeview Avenue and Fresno Avenue, is a beautiful setting overlooking Lake Tahoe that is available for rent for private events. The City’s only water dog park is located on the East end of Regan Beach.
Almost all properties in the neighborhood are within walking distance the Lake or Meadow. Al Tahoe is an eclectic neighborhood in that there is a huge mix of properties from single family to large apartment buildings to lakefront and meadow front homes, which allows a large variation in real estate pricing, quality and desirability. The Plan Area Statement encompassing Al Tahoe often allows for 2 or more units per parcel depending on the size of the lot, as well as single family homes.
