Montgomery Estates
Montgomery Estates is located in a very quiet area of town—making it easy to enjoy the inherent peace and serenity of the Sierra Nevada wilderness. The neighborhood is surrounded by meadows that encompass the Truckee River on one side, and Cold Creek on the other. The area provides access to countless mountain biking and hiking trails—with many homes backing up to Conservancy or U.S. National Forest. Underground utilities are installed in the newest section of this lovely neighborhood.
Lake Tahoe’s Montgomery Estates is accompanied by Sierra House Elementary School, which falls almost directly in the center of the neighborhood. This area tends to be very sought after by those individuals with young children looking for a permanent residence to raise their kids. Additionally, Montgomery Estates is home to a large local population—giving the area a safe and welcoming feeling. This South Lake Tahoe neighborhood is only a short distance from the middle of town—so it’s always convenient to access the lake or Heavenly Mountain Ski Resort. You feel as though you’re a long way from town, but in reality it’s just a few miles from Lake Tahoe Community College, Bijou Community Park, and many other South Tahoe resources. Additionally, residents of the Golden Bear Community/Lower Montgomery Estates have been recognized with a Firewise USA® designation by the National Fire Protection Association, making them the first South Lake Tahoe community to earn this designation. This designation makes Golden Bear one of approximately 1500 neighborhoods in the country recognized for their efforts in wildfire preparedness.
